This is our fifth annual Ethical Consumer Conference. We aim to bring together individuals, businesses and organisations to explore not only the challenges we currently face, but what a radically reimagined future might look like and the actions we can all take to get there.

Please keep an eye on our website for the full schedule and speakers.

You can buy tickets for the conference, which will be held on Friday 8th November, at Rich Mix in Shoreditch London on our Eventbrite page.

This year’s theme will be answering the question “Can degrowth lead to a sustainable and fair future?”

You can find out more about the theme on our conference page. We will be sharing more details about the different topics within the theme soon.

Everyone! Our conference is for consumers, citizens, workers, businesses and anyone interested in finding out what we can do to create and support local, national and global behaviour change to tackle the climate crisis in a fair and just way.

You can get involved by coming along with your colleagues and friends. In the build up to the event, we will be sharing our plan for the day on our social media platforms. Please share them in your own networks.

This year’s event is now full of great speakers and sessions, but if you would like to get involved in a future event with us, please contact conference@ethicalconsumer.org or use our contact form.

You buy tickets via our Eventbrite page.

There are two paid ticket options to choose from: one for those on a lower income (earning less than £25k a year), and those on a higher income (those earning more than £25k a year).

Additionally, in order to make the tickets as inclusive as possible, we will also have a Pay-It-Forward donation option. If you’re in a position to, the Pay It Forward option will go towards covering the cost for those who otherwise may not be able to afford to attend.

To do this, you need to select the ticket option on Eventbrite but instead of selecting any of the tickets, add a donation amount. This will be added to our donation pot to go towards those on the waiting list. You will need to assign a name to the donation, you are welcome to use your own or a fake one as this won’t be needed to pass on to someone else.

If you are unable to afford a ticket, you are able to register for a free ticket instead of purchasing one. There are no requirements for this, but we do ask that you consider if you are able to afford a ticket to purchase one. This helps to support the event and ensures that those who are unable to afford a ticket can get access. If you are on the waiting list you will be contacted as soon as tickets become available; this can be up to one week before the event.

As with last year, we have included a Pay-It-Forward ticket option to help those who may not be able to afford a ticket to take part in the event. Anyone can use the donation option on the EventBrite page to send money towards.

The event is only made possible by those attending, alongside our partner organisations.

We will not be livestreaming any of the event unfortuantely.

Yes! A vegan lunch will be provided.

If you have any allergies please use the ‘contact us’ form to let us know; you will also be asked about this at the point of ticket purchasing on Eventbrite.

The food will be provided by Veggies, a volunteer-led, community-based, social enterprise. They have been promoting vegan catering and supporting campaigns for human and animal rights, environmental protection and social justice since 1984.

They have a policy of minimal packaging and promote the use of recycled goods. They investigate everything that they use in order to avoid animal products, those tested on animals and those resulting from human oppression, whilst seeking guidance from the Ethical Consumer Magazine.

Yes! Please do, this will help to cover the costs for someone else who may not be able to afford to come otherwise and helps to keep our event accessible and inclusive.

To do this, you need to select the ticket option on eventbrite but instead of selecting any of the tickets, add a donation amount only. This will be added to our donation pot to go towards those on the waiting list. You may need to assign a name to the donation as if you were buying a ticket but you are welcome to use your own name or a pseudonym as this won’t be needed to pass on to someone else. Once you have completed the order, you may receive a confirmation email, but this is not a ticket and cannot be used as one.

For any questions regarding the venue, please refer to the Rich Mix website FAQ’s directly for the best information.
